Brian J Cowles Sr. for Joplin City Council
Commitment to safe streets, a strong economy, and affordable homes in Joplin.
Meet Brian Cowles
A dedicated father and Missouri Southern graduate committed to safer streets, stronger infrastructure, and affordable homes in Joplin.
Brian moved to Joplin in 2019, and decided to attend Missouri Southern State University when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. During that time, Brian served in student government and was able to serve as an intern in the City Manager's office.
During the internship at City Hall, Brian was able to interact with all of the departments and other city employees, and learned how the city operates. Throughout the year, and following the murder of our officers at North Point Mall, Brian decided he wanted to give back to Joplin and serve in whatever capacity was available.
There have been several opportunities, but City Council and City Hall are full of great people Brian has worked for in the past. When the election for City Council approached, and after thought and prayer, Brian decided to run.
Brian has 5-year old son, who attends Joplin public schools, and ensuring that Joplin is a happy, healthy, and thriving city for him is Brian's top priority. We hope that you will join us in supporting Brian for City Council, and let him help make the future of Joplin just as bright for you and your family.

Our Focus
Building a safer, stronger Joplin for families and future.
Infrastructure

Improving roads and public spaces for everyday safety, and ensuring fast and efficient construction timelines. Joplin is a beautiful city that just needs to be maintained properly
Economy
Supporting local jobs and economic growth. We all benefit from the new and diverse businesses that come to Joplin, or local entrepreneurs. Joplin can entice new and large employers
Creating affordable homes so families can thrive. Joplin has plenty of land, with reasonable labor, and Joplin should be doing everything possible to make housing more affordable.

Snapshots from the heart of Joplin and community moments
Brian truly cares about Joplin’s future; the fact that he wants to work on making houses and rent prices more affordable, and make sure to keep the city safe. I am happy we have someone who graduated from Missouri Southern, and has a son in Joplin public schools that is running for City Council.

Brian took time to explain his ideas about Joplin, and you can tell he really loves this city. I plan to vote for Brian in April, mainly because he wants his grandkids to grow up here. That is the kind of person we need to help make decisions for our city.
